 CURRENT / NEW NEWS:

The Annual Point Picnic will be held August 9th at 6:00 pm.at the newly named Mead Marina.

This year we are asking you to invite people you know who used to own property here on the Point.  We want this year’s picnic to be a Point Reunion as well as a great time for current residents to gather for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship.

Bring a dish for the buffet and the Association will provide the meat and beverages. There will be tables and chairs, but you could bring your own folding chairs to make sure there are enough seats. Come join us !!

A reunion of Half Asters will take place at the marina on Fri. night, cleanup of the marina on Sat. morning, and setup for the picnic on Sat. afternoon.

Contact those who left the point and give us updates if they cannot make the picnic.

Sue Deaner is in charge of the picnic with help from Randy Hatch and others.

New Board Members and Officers were voted in for the Association Board in July. Kent Miller and John Abbitt are new board members. The new board president is Cliff Deaner and vice president is Dorothy Thon. Thanks goes to Randy Hatch and Stan Kownacki for their service to the board as their terms were up.

The County Road is currently being surfaced from hwy. 134 to the gate where the Association begins. More infor and photos later.

The Association Gate has a new look. The gate committee came up with the funds to resurface the old brick columns by building wood columns around them with planters on their sides. Thanks goes to Jim Hilliard and Stan Kownacki for the wonderful job they did in constructing the columns and donating their time. Looks great! Photos to follow on that also when flowers are in place.

Marina Dredging is still in need of resources. See Jay Hill about donations to this ongoing improvement at the marina.

Marina Pavillion building is another marina project which the association would appreciate donations to build. It could house

activities in inclement weather and be of great value to any gatherings on the point.

Youth on the Point... thanks to Andrew at the end of the point, who suggested that we have activities to help connect the kids

on the point. Marilyn Kraft and Lisa Knight are gathering a list of kids, their ages, and phone numbers for contact. At least one activity a month will be planned in the summer months.  During the rest of the year acitivites will be planned according to those on the point who can participate. More on this later.

"Classified Ads" page has been discontinued as it did not

        seem to gather much interest.

          ... See Marina Page!

  • Annual Garage Sale was a mild success, with fewer people paricipating than had been hoped. Up for discussion for next year will be holding it just on Saturday, more signs, and a list of people counted so they can be put on a map of those setting up for the day...then give the map out as people enter the point.

What We Do

We are approximately 120 cottages, homes and owners of property clustered on the shores of Lake Huron in the Les Cheneaux region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Our Association was formed by residents wishing to maintain a quality of living governing our properties, the private road and general use areas. Our mission is to protect the natural resources and keep lines of communication open between neighbors.
