Clifford M Deaner, Jr

December 3, 1948 – February 19, 2011 

Clifford “Mark” Deaner, born and raised in Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away Saturday evening in Crystal River, Florida.  He was the son of the late Clifford M Deaner, Sr. and Marie (Willard) Deaner.  Known as Mark to family and friends, he grew up with his brothers Fred and Mike and sister MaryB in the family home on Outer Drive. He was a proud “River Rat” and entertained his kids and grandkids with stories of the Raisin River and Fifth grade. 

            He has resided in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on St Martin Point for over 20 years, retiring from the Michigan Department of Corrections as an Officer, having served many years “behind the walls” of Jackson Prison and then at the Kinross Facility.   He is the former owner of Cabin Fever Computers of Hessel in the Les Cheneaux Islands.

Mark leaves behind many who loved him and will miss him forever, particularly his wife of 30 years, Susan (Lehman) Deaner of Hessel, Sons Mark David of California and motorcycle bud Paul “PK” of Cleveland, Ohio; step son and business partner Leslie Hensley and only daughter Kelly Hensley, both of Jackson, Michigan. 

Grandpa Deaner leaves 2 generations of grandchildren:  Caitlin Butterfield-Bell of North Carolina and Claire Deaner of Cleveland Ohio, Holden Deaner of Washington; Joseph D Brown, Jr. and his son Hayvin of Fenton, Michigan; Erin Marie Hensley and her son Kenneth of Roscommon Michigan; Grandsons David R. Hensley of Perry and Joshua W. Brown of Stockbridge; Sara Bethany and Luke Andrew Hensley of Kingsport Tennessee, and Autum A Hensley of Pleasant Lake.

Those who also are part of his grieving family are Brother Michael Deaner of Brooklyn, New York; Father in law Wayne M Lehman of Jackson Michigan; Brother in law Paul Lehman and Wife Karen of Chelsea Michigan, Mother of his sons, Micki Delisle of Ohio; nieces and nephews; the many friends he had “on the Point” and lastly, his two wiener dogs, Poker and Sparky.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration will be held this summer on the shore of St Martin Bay, the place he called Home.
